Diet update! And happy Easter!

So I'm down to about 121 now, which is absolutely wonderful, besides that my tummy hasn't gone down one bit! However, the tummy area is always one of the last places to lose fat. It's going to start in you face, chest and neck, then move progressively and slowly to your lower back and stomach. But I'm so impatient!

I honestly don't think I'll ever have a flat stomach unless I a) stop eating any kind of bread product (bread, pasta, cereal) and if I b) stop eating sweets. I've done both individually before. A couple years ago I didn't eat any bread products, and that helped a little, but it was way too difficult, because that cuts out so much freaking food!! Last year I cut out sweets as a new year's resolution, and ate none until around the holiday season, so over 9 months with absolutely no sweets (besides a lick of cookie batter here and there maybe!). The only other way I can think I'll have a flat stomach is if I eat 1500 calories a day or less. Which, I'm sorry, I can't do. I get so hungry!

Thus far I've stuck with 1700 calories a day, which is pretty ok, I don't feel hungry. It's definitely enough food. However, I want to start seeing more results, so today I lowered it to 1600. We'll see how that goes!

I'm totally noticing the fat loss in my chest. My sternum is pretty apparent now, and my boobs are shrinking (nooooooooooo) but oh well. Some of my favorite jeans are too loose around my butt.

I signed up to meet with a personal trainer tomorrow, for basic strength, so I will learn how to properly use free weights (dumbbells) and the weight machines. I want to be strong, too! Just all around healthy!

Except for last night, where I made a candy/rice crispy birthday cake for my friend, and totally pigged out. So yesterday was a total diet bust day!

I'll continue to keep you updated! See you around, Clowdies! And happy Easter!

New 'diet'

Arabelle here!

I'm starting a diet. Well, I started last week, and it's a calorie-counting diet. I'm using the Andriod app MyFitnessPal and it's freaking wonderful and so easy, you just type in the foods you had for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks and keep track of how long you work out/ what you did, and it counts the calories accordingly. You can actually scan the tags of the food you eat and it will pull up all the nutritional info about it for easier cataloging. Niftyyyyyyyy!!!!

ANYWAY I started out at 1200 a day, which is what the app suggested for me. Again, I tried this for two days. And I was absolutely STARVING. I went over both days. I was so zapped of energy I couldn't even walk as fast as I usually do, I was struggling to keep up with my friends.

Thusly, I upped my calorie limit to 1700 after some research.

For a teenage to early twenties female, anything below 1500 calories a day is considered STARVATION. I was literally starving myself. So screw that, quite frankly.

1700 is a good limit for me. I can still eat full meals and snacks, but I have to train myself to not overeat like I usually do. It's really just how to control my appetite, not about losing weight.

Granted, today I was home and my grandma made a traditional German meal (she's from Germany so duh) and I def ate my limit of calories in one meal. It's tough to even stay within 1700, but everyone has off days. Plus I work out four days a week, and I know that helps.

Come on the journey with me to a better appetite and a flat stomach! I'll post updates periodically.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT LOSING WEIGHT, IT'S ABOUT IMPROVING WHAT I ALREADY HAVE AND AM PROUD OF!! Please feel free to ask me for basic advice about dieting and exercise!
